Gettig rid of temp internet files...
Hi, im running XP Pro, in windows/temp int files it's showing 9.35 mb of files, I have ran delete files thru ie internet options, have ran disc cleanup, even ran a program called cc cleaner that is supposed to remove all those files & it still shows 9.35mb in the TIF properties, even after reboot. Is there anyway to get rid of these things. Thanks in advance. Sidewinder

You probably need to get rid of the Index.dat folder, which is left untouched even when you click "Delete files" in Internet Options. Here is a good article that explains the various methods:

Have you tried getting rid of it from the default Administrator account? That has slightly elevated priveleges, and may just do it. You can get to it by hitting Ctrl>Alt>Del twice at the logon screen - the username is Administrator and the password is whatever you enterd when you first set up Windows.

I do not remember the original password as it's been a few years back when I did the install, however I did a search in find files for index.data files & it could not find it so apparently the cc cleaner got rid of it, it just bugs me that it's still showing in the TIF properties. Thanks for your time & help. Sidewinder

Sidewinder, When you go into Internet Options/General tab and click the "Delete Files" button when the pop-up window appears checkmark "delete all offline content" the click OK. This may solve your ptoblem.
