Beware AdAware...not always aware of claims.

First I do like this program. And thanks to the forum members turning me on to it.

The problem i found was with the Imesh/CyDoor spyware that infested my computer that adaware claims to find.
After reading about how bad Cydoor was i removed IMesh (hey if you got to syp on me i dont need you). After deleting... i ran AdAware and it found 10 hidden Cy-door files, registry entries and programs. Great. I checked and sure enough they were there.
Reran adaware4.5 and let it remove all listed. Fine. All gone...I thought. But...
Cy_door kept showing up in msconfig/startup. So i started searching again.
    1- I found cy-door.exe in c\windows.
2- just happened to find "cd_install_2022.exe
in windows by checking properties on this
new looking program...pure luck for me.
3- Ran regedit F3/RunServices and found
    cd_load.exe. Deleted that also.
4- Cy_door was still in start up and with help from here i checked another registry key and found in "run" ANOTHER cd_load.exe.
14 entries total. Darn cydoor, how much do you need to know???

I read the article on how hard it was to remove cydoor but this is way to hard for one with only moderate skills. Now all seems to be gone, but who knows
My point is that AdAware may be good but fell short in its claims. It missed 4 entries. Thanks to those that helped find that last one that finally removed it from msconfig/startup.
Maybe i should send an email to AdAware and alert them to what it missed or would that be useless. Maybe the writer already knows and will be corrected on a future release.???

Anyway anyone wishing to rid Imesh/Cy_door(syp_door) here are 4 places to check if having problems.
Thanks to those enlighten ones for the help.
    carson...

Send them an email with a link to this thread. You could also post at the Ad-aware Forum. There's a link to the forum at the Ad-aware site. You don't have to register to post there.

They either already have addressed this or they will. They are very responsive to ways to improve Ad-Aware.
