    Vhs > Dvd

    In order to transfer 3 hr VHS tape onto DVD do i need DL DVD disk or just normal DVD. Alredy have DL DVD device in PC.

    You'll need software to convert the VHS to a DVD readable format and you'll need a capture device to get it from the VCR to the computer.

    already have WinFast TV2000XP capture card, 80GB HDD, Video studio 9, Nero 6

    Nero vision express3 should be able to get this onto a single layer dvd disk. If it's over the size limit for single layer when you add the mpg file,it will ask you if you want to compress it to fit a 4.7GB disk or do you want to use a DL disk. you may lose some quality,but probably not much. Be sure to set Nero to make 2 encoding passes instead of 1 if it doesn't do it automatically...
