    Lexmark Problem

A friend has a Lexmark Z605 or Lexmark Z608 (can't remember which) USB Printer.

Having trouble printing and gettting "unable to communicate with printer audio messages" or something like that when he tries.
It works occasionally after rebooting and prints.

Sometimes an option called printer offline or similar is automatically being checke off also. Opening printer properties while something is printed stops the printer and the print job. Cannot restart the print job nor resume the print job and messages related to printing keep popping up at the wrong time.

Windows XP HOME on a five year old COMPAQ.

Two things come to mind. First; unplug the printer completely(from the power and the usb cable) let it set for a few minutes. Plug everything back in and re-boot. See if that helps. Next up-date the driver for it. You should be able to find a driver update on Lexmark's web site. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    It wasn't a driver problem.
There was a setting in Control Panel, Device Manager causing the trouble. A USB property setting was incorrect. Seems to work beautiful now.
