program capture
well i am some what confused about it
i have a tv card external
and i see programs
and what i want t know is do i need any external video card or any capture card to record the programs or just any software will do the jobs with out buying any stuffs.
I habr heard that these capute cards are expensive.
anyway can i just record program using software only.
whats the fact...

and even this vhs stuff do we compulsorily need high caputre card to convert vhs/pal to computer readable format...
help.
i think for audio coversion we dont need other devices recording software works..

Hi.. which tv capture card do you have? Make and model. Most already have the capability to transfer/record directly to your computer and come with software to allow you to do it.
Otherwise here's another thread that talks about capturing VHS tapes to your computer... which is the same concept except you're going to be recording live TV and from tape.

thks for reply
but i didnt saw mine card there in list
so that card name is SURWIN.
i knew that much only as i had taken it from me fren
so i dont have any catalouge for now
so she might have so if it is not enough i will ask her
will that name of card help to solve my problem
but i think it says it is tv card only
r tv cards inbulit with capture cards (may be some am i right?)

it does what you would want. The name Surwin didn't help me much though I'd need a model number at least to track it down.
I can't get a lot of information on Surwin at all.. they're a Taiwanese company that manufactures mostly hand held computer devices and I'm having trouble accessing their website to find out anything more specific about any other products they make or used to make.
