    Scanning Prob - Irfanview Aquire

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS, ALL!
Trying to sinmplify scanning at Mom's here for her for her new scanner. I felt the AQUIRE function in Irfanview would be most user-friendly for her, but I continue to get the attached error that has me stumped. All suggestions/insights will be appreciated!
    TIA

problem fixed - just made sure to uninstall all the hp stuff from old hp printer and did full install of drivers/software for the new all-in-one. Irfanview FILE - AQUIRE function works great now!

Yes, one should always remove old hardware's software before adding new hardware. Glad to see you got that fixed.

Scanner was working as desired, but then found that the all-in-one was not being picked up as a printer and I was unsuccessful at adding it via "Add New Hardware" via control panel.
I then followed the (to me) surprising instructions for leaving the USB cable between the print/scan/copier and the PC DISCONNECTED until AFTER all the software had been installed - then shutdown, connect USB, restart...and all was well!

Yes that is usually the procedure for installing USB printers/scanners or all in ones. Software first then connect device to USB on computer. My Epson is same way. As are most all other devices.
