    Forum logging me off.

I wonder if this is happening to anyone else? I log-on, start a new thread, compose my post, and by the time I hit "Submit", I've apparently been logged off. It asks me to log on, which I do, but now my entire post is lost. Fortunately, I've learned to copy my postings to the clipboard first, but its still very annoying. Almost makes the board unusable.

    Anyone else experience this?

Edit: btw - I've experienced this both at home, and at work. (Win98SE and WIn 2K), so I doubt that its related to the computer.

I looked in your profile....you have it set to not remember your username and password.....this is why you have to log in before you post...its not remembering your details

Hmm . . . I could try that, but that doesn't really make sense. Generally, in a forum, that option refers to remembering who you are if you leave the forum. Not while you're still in the forum.

For example, as I stated, I select "New Thread", compose my post, and hit "Submit", and it forgets that I'm logged in. That's not the way a forum is supposed to work. I'd guess that the forum software is configured incorrectly.

Edit: To just to be more clear, I've never had that option set in any forum, and its never happened before. This is something that just started in the last few weeks or so. (It has been some time since I was last in here. So this may have started longer ago.)

Kazz is correct, you have to have it set to remember you & it's like that in every forum I have ever been a member of. BJ

Edit: I set it for you. BJ

Ok, here's the two options, as they relate to "cookies" that I see in my profile. I have both set to "yes", (as they always have been). Is this what you are talking about?

Dont worry about it, as I said in my last post I reset it to remember you so you can post away now without having to log in each time. BJ

Edit: It would be this option, you need to have it set to yes.

Thanks Big John. I didn't notice that the first time.

Whats odd is, I must've inadvertantly set that to "no" at some time in the past, because I don't recall it ever having been an issue before.

I thought I was going nuts for awhile there.

Thanks again, for clearing that up.

Just an fyi,,but even though you tell it to remember you and a cookie is applied. I've had cookies go bad(corrupt) at times and had to delete them and sign in again with a 'fresh' cookie...

    True.

Although, in the end, I may have mine set similar to yours. I don't want the forum to log me in automatically, so I have that one set to "No".

But, I do want it to keep me logged in while I'm here. So I have "Browse board with cookies" set to "Yes".

That combo causes the forum to work like I remember it. (Which is very good.)
