I dont think they would sell that tho. A lot of people would switch! I would love to see it myself. That might get hardware and software people to make more 95 drivers.

If it is working fine with no conflicts, DON'T up-grade it, Leave it alone, and count your blessings!
If you are like me, sick of microsoft updates causing crashes, and making things quit working, inability to uninstall things, switch to Linux, where upgrades ARE backward compatable! Linux is FREE and Thousands of programs also are free for it!

You have to get a licence for certain FAT/DOS features so its unlikely they will free up early versions of Windows anytime soon.
Pity they dont make an official live CD version then it would be far more bullet proof to outside influences.

Linux Knoppix is just that, runs off the cd, and does not install anything on the hard drive. All you have to do is set the bios to boot to the cd first, instead of the C drive. And it will even run on a 386, I am told. It runs fine on my P1 - 200.

Yes Rick that was my insinuation if it can be done for Linux would Windows not be an ideal candidate for doing it with an early release version and thus improve security no end.
And for those who have seen it there was last year or so ago a webpage which provided a way to do this very thing but it seems to have been pulled.
BTW a list of Linux Live CDs theres a few more which provide this too

Anyone try the 98SE versions of those drivers in 95?
http://www.usb-drivers.com/drivers/39/39702.htm
Curious as I was unable to find VV's post on how to do that.

That is Great! I would like to find an instructional video on transitioning to Linux also.
To me Linux seems to be started somewhere between DOS and win 95, then just kept improving. All those involved want to help, not screw people. And the best part is the backward compatability. I will be so glad when I finally get completely transitioned onto Linux and can remove all micro&soft from everything I have.
Every time I have to help someone with xp, I scream. So many stupid changes for no reason. I never can find sh--. It made me so mad, I had a t-shirt made with gates pic on it, and a caption "Public Enema #1".
I am still trying to get coordinated with my Linux friend that is going to install Debian for me, in my new, Virgin Computer. Yes it is a virgin, being no part of it has ever been "Infilthicated by the micro&soft Virus". It will never have any micro&soft programs. I mean the worst spyware of all, "Alexia" comes from them!
Get this, the other day, I was on some site, and it had a banner ad "Download Alexia" I wonder if it was secretly a micro&soft site?
Another thing, seems every time I reload, and then go to their site for the "so called critical updates" then it starts slowing down and screwing up. People dont even think about how "Open Ports" get there. they dont happen by accident, they are INTENTIONALLY WRITTEN in ther by micro&soft! I seen one port # over 6100, I think it was. The definition of windows, "Many windows of opportunity for hackers to get into your computer", in my opinion. Those should be turned on by the local keybord ONLY, and all should be closed until authorized by us, not them! If there actually was any such thing as micro&soft security, this would be in place.
Then all the foreign languages etc that are totally useless to you, and all the rest of the superfulous stuff it loads on your drive to fill it up, and slow it down. But when you try to do a simple thing, you have to go get the windows cd.
I wonder if gates actually sleeps with a computer, and he calls it Alexia?

Hi train
I downloaded the "vmm32.vxd" from 98SE and overwrote it. Did not fix it. I later got the file from a 95 machine, (not sure which version of 95) and that file was 709Kb. The 98SE versoin was 907Kb. windows, Still cant find it.
