Router prob. Seeing computers, but can't access them.
Hello,
I have connectivity with two computers. Both can use the internet. I can see both computers in WORKGROUP, but it won't let me ACCESS them and browse the other computers files.
What can I do to fix it?

Greetings codephreeze,
We need more details.
What operating systems are you running?
Which operating system are you tring to connect to?
What is the full error? Please try to give the message as accurately as possible.
Go to a machine, click Start, Run, and type the following syntax in the Open box to see if you can access the share:
\\ip-address
\\computer_name
Try testing the connectivity and name resolution between the computers and report back the exact message following after each one.
1) Ping itself by name
2) Ping itself by ip address
3) Ping the other by name
4) Ping the other by ip address
5) Ping 127.0.0.1

Something tells me.....we have a mix of 9x O.S. and XP.....and we need a user created to match the log in on the 9x machines.....
