Looks like Trend Micro users are getting a rather large program update.
Over two hundred megs.

oldhermit, what are the updates for ? I run W2K and don't have to do anything like that. There maybe a problem and you are downloading XP updates? They should tell you what/why you are downloading them for.
Take Care

Hi DELTREE,
Trend Micro provides a very good firewall and antivirus program called Pc-Cillin Internet Security 2004.
Trend Micro keeps Pc-Cillin updated, sometimes up to three times a day, and for each update there is a graph that indicates the progress of the download. They seldom take more than a minute or two to complete, and once the download is complete, they are installed and the program is updated for immediate use.
Most updates are relatively small, but this time they sent out an update that was over 200 Megs. The difference in this update is that there is no progress graph shown and there is no previous indication that Trend Micro will be updating the program. So it behaves much the same as a Microsoft update, even after doing a Tracert and all.
After hitting the 100 Meg point I started searching for answers, discovered that Trend Micro was receiving the download and went to bed, waking in the morning with an updated Pc-Cillin and two very large files of over 100 Megs each.
Non Pc-Cillin users who also happen to use W2k will not receive this download.
