SP2 Blocked my Web based Outlook Email Account

After installing SP2 Outlook can not find my web based email account. The error occurs when Outlook is opened and tries to look for mail on an web based account using pop3 and port 110 on the incoming server and smtp and port 25 on the outgoing. I tried adding Outlook and pop3 to the exceptions in the Firewall settings but that didn't work. I disabled the firewall but that didn't work either. The strange thing is it did not block all my web based email accounts. I can still access my Earthlink account using the same ports. I also put the website in the trusted sites selction of Internet Explorer. What else could I try?

Which web based service are you having the problem with? They may have changed POP3/SMTP access into a paid service recently.

The Windows XP firewall doesn't restrict outgoing connections at all; you don't need to add exceptions unless you're running a mail server on your PC.
