downloader.small.6.m
avg alerted me i had this trojan. i ran avg and it said it could not move the file to the vault. i then ran trojanhunter and it didnt find the file at all. i then moved the file to the recycle bin and booted to safe mode and shredding the RECYCLER folder that the offending file was in using Advanced File Shredder. The file is now gone, but is it really? i know that when u delete something that it isnt really gone, but since i shredded it with 7 passes i am just curious if i am still at risk? thanx in advance

Sounds like what I had to go through on my duaghter's computer the last two days. Hunt and peck for it. Searching didn't find it and the only way I did find it was looking, not using search option, but reading through Temporary Internet Files folder. It's probably, and most likely listed as download.trojan.

When you say scanned? how did you do this? Like I said, in the search I did for the past two days, I kept getting first AVG then Norton saying this virus was there but, the path both gave was not the correct path or at least it wasn't showing where both said it was. I systematically by eyeball, searched the TIF folder, which by the way is hidden and you have to unhide it, then and only then, was I able to find this trojan. TIF folder is in Document and Settings/local setting folder.

it said it was in Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\s2a1aykj.default\Cache\484dddca
i scanned the entire Documents and Settings folder once and it said it was there. i then ran bazooka, spysweeper, adaware and spybot and then scanned the Documents and Settings folder again and i was no longer getting a Virus Detected message

Just to be safe, I would run a few onlines scanners. One in particular is a trojan scanner. Then if it comes up clean, I would say it's gone.
JFYI, These things are buggers and I had a heck of time trying to rid my daughter's computer of the downloader.trojan.A.
Here's a link to an online trojan scanner that is free:
