avant browser /about blank
Hi all, I am using the latest version of Avant browser 10.0 build 027.
When i open the browser, to go to my pre set homepage, which is my Yahoo, The browser always starts to open about blank first?
It does not open about blank but shows it in the site tab momentarily, before opening yahoo, the same thing happens when I use my google toolbar to do a search= about blank tries to open first, but then goes to my searched item, before fully opening about blank?
I also have IE 6 browser set up the same way, but I get nothimg related to about blank using it?=IE6.
My question is does Avant browser intergrate about blank in it's set up? I got the same deal with the older version of Avant browser also? I have run pest patrol , adaware se, SB search and destroy, none show any spyware? Thanks newme.

Hi.. I use Avant browser and the same thing happens here too. Avant uses the IEX engine so much of its behaviour is the same as IEX. It is much safer than IEX though if you know how to use it... turning off all active content while surfing is one thing I always do.. and it's easy and fast with avant in the tools menu.
Because it uses the Internet Explorer shell you should always install IEX security patches when available.
This isn't to say that Avant is as inherently safe as firefox or Opera but it is a good alternative to IEX if used correctly.

AboutBlank
Thaks guys for the info, I got this answer off thier form=Avant's=
"You don't get it in IE becaue IE can't open without an open page while Avant can. Avant needs to open a page before it can place content in it... that's where the about:blank comes in"
