    no pics anymore?

Hi all, when I open my pictures in my documents my pictures shows no thunmbnail pics any more? but if I open my pictures, via acdsee ver 6 they are there ? Also I cant view the pictures anymore in my documents/my pictures it will open up acdsee but will not show a picture?
But as stated earlier they will show up if I view them through acdsee, do i have something set wrong on the windows side of things= xp pro or is it a setting via acdsee?

When i go to my documents/my pictures/tools/folder options/ file types Windows is showing my pictures as an audio cd cd type file?? no option for jpeg, bmp etc.. ??

The only way i can view pictures is using acdsee period [ no ] windows program will show pictures at all seems all my windows picture viewers are missing = windows explorer , windows picture and fax viewer opens but says no imagr to disply although you can display and view them in acdsee ver 6 ?? paint will not show pictures either?

    trying to clarify

Let try and clarify my problem

    1. my documents/ my pictures do not show up anymore with any windows viewer, but they do show up in th acdsee program.

2.there are no jpeg or bmp associations any more all I have is video cd extentions?for the pictures.

    3. the picture folders are there in my pictures and each folder shows the size of the pictures on my hard drive, and they are on my hard drive but I can't view them via any windows related program, [my file/ program icons for all other programs DO work.]

    4. I can only view the digital pictures via acdsee but when I try to email the pics from acddsee all i get is a red X ?

5.somehow windows can not and will not view my pictures, also downloaded some pics from a compactflash card directly but when I tried emailing them all i get is the red X

6.For whatever reason the pictures are there not able to view them with MS picture/fax viewer or paint or any windows program?
    Any ideass?? thanx

Try clearing your Temporary Internet Files from the Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>General tab.

newme, I don't think this is a digital imaging problem. Sounds more like a file corruption. Have you tried doing an sfc /scannow using your xp cd and the run option in your start menu?

Since it seems to be more of a corruption in xp, I've merged your two posts together in the XP forum.

Thanks photolady i tried that if i did it correctly a window poped up and said to put xp disc in i did that and after 15 mins it ran thru the check but i got no message after that , stating whether anything had been repaired or not ? The SFC file checker window went away and that was it. Is that the way SFC works? If it is it did not do anything?

sfc yes, it does it's thing then disappears. It doesn't tell you if it fixed anything or not. But usually it does.
    Did it help?
