What is the best partitioning software?

Hi all, I would like to partition my newley installed maxtor 160 gig hard drive , so I can move some of my files to a safe drive like my pictures etc.. what would you guys sugget?

Also what size should my c drive be and what files/programs do you suggest I move to an G drive since my pc already has a drive =floppy, c drive, d drive= dvd/cd player, f drive = cd/dvd burner.

Any help in the software to use and how to do it appreciated. thanx newme.

If its not the main drive you could simply use FDISK to do the partitioning [ensuring you select the correct driveto work on!].
Other than that theres Partition magic,Acronis disk director in the paid catagory and Ranish partition manager in the freeware section.

Which operating system are you using and what do you use the system for?

The only one I have used is Partition Magic, but I liked it a lot.
Easy to use, does everything I wanted, and no problems whatever with it.

No mater what program you use, I do suggest having a back up before you start.

Got a cd burner? Back things up FIRST!
