    These are Good

Hi, I know I will probably be shot for this, however I must say when you get good adverts then I for one appreciate them. The current "yahoo search" ad's with the animals is cute and a cut above the ordinary.

Hi, for those of you young enough to remember, during the Vietnam War I had friends from my town involved in this war, someone decided that magazines sent to our troops should have ad's cut out " might make them feel they were missing out". I believe US troops suffered the same. Now the troops demanded the ad's be kept in, it is part of our culture. My business needs to promote itself and this forum is also a business, we are just the unpaid employees, doing all the work. So my point, if we are to have ad's then lets have good one's. Just my view.

    Yeah, what ads, lol

I use Proxomitron here to completely remove them all, when viewing this post the top of my page begins where the "VirtualDr Forums > Virtual Dr Feedback > Feedback > These are Good" part is, nothing else is above it at all, so no place holders or scrolling to get past where the adds (and that big blue box) used to be, it's just like they were never there to begin with.

Proxomitron sure is good, you can tailer almost any page to suit what you like, it's not just about adds, it'll change almost any part of a page, you can remove stuff or add stuff just by copy/pasting a bit of html here n there. All you do is view the source of the page and find to parts you don't like, use a snippet from the start of the section and a snippet from the end, paste it in Proxomitron and anything in between the snippets will not be shown, you specify what you want to replace it with, either nothing, or paste in some other html if you want something else in there.

Another example, those that use Google for a homepage might find it useful to have links to other sites on that page too, ya could have a row of your most frequently accessed favourites along the top or bottom, or wherever, only your imagination is the limit!

It's a little tricky to begin with figuring out how to use the program, but once ya get the hang of it you'll be tweaking websites like a good un.

    Regards
