    can't find 2nd hard drive

I am trying to install a second HD on a friends computer which is running win95 on I believe a Phoenix 586 PCI pNp motherboard.
It sees the harddrive in the cmos and while booting up but when you clinck on my computer on the desktop or go to explorrer there is only the c drive. It is a seagate drive but I wen to their website and set it as the slave. is there anything else i can do to get it to show on the desktop.
    thanks

When you set it as slave, you mean you physically changed the jumper to slave, and not just that you put it on the same ribbon cable with the MASTER, right?

If so, try the drive on the SECONDARY side of the motherboard using both MASTER and SLAVE, just to see if either of these work.

Post back the results-and we'll go from there.

Is this a new or used drive and, if new, did you use fdisk to create a partition on the drive then format it?

whenever it wants to as far as I can tell. I was doing something and after 5 minutes of working it just stopped. last night it ran all night and into today when I shut it down.
anyways all that was needed was done and now it is back with its owner - for now.
