    if you don't install sp2?

    Hi all ,if you dont install sp2 ,will you still be able to download critical updates for xp/home&pro without it?
    newme/notme = never accept a no from someone who is not in the position to give you a yes!

    Yes you should be able to still update the other windows patches without SP2 installed but I wouldnt expect any soon given this has just been released.

    newme--SP2 is primarily about security--in some cases a bit of overkill. If you do all the right things about security you probably are not missing much, but many people are either unaware or do not keep things updated.
    Even with SP2 there still are many third party programs that should be on most people's PC's--and updated.

    Answer...Yes...No problem have down loaded two of them in the last eight days,as you can guess am leaving out SP2 for the time being..

    The above may be overkill but you can see I really don't need SP2.

    And most importantly the advice provided by fellow Virtual Doctor members.

    Just thought you should know. If they apply to your use of a PC you might consider. They do not offer much to me.
