[RESOLVED] No Sound!!!

2 Labtec Speakers

Suddenly, about a week ago, my sound stopped working. A message would come up saying there was a problem with mixer.exe and it would have to close. I went into the control panel and then system and found in the device manager there was a driver problem with my audio device. I went online and downloaded a new driver from C-Media. Now in the device manager it tells me that the device is working properly, but I still get no sound!!! What else can I do.

To be sure you don't have multiple entries in device mangler,boot up to 'safe' mode. Go in to system/hardware and take a look. Multiple entries may not show up in regular mode. Click to highlight the sound entries and remove. Re-boot to regular mode and then try installing the new drivers. Be sure to shut down any AV and firewall that may be running before installing...
