Two processors ? No just one !

When I looked at Control panel/System/Hardware/Processors, I saw two processors were listed (Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.4 ghz.). Actually I have only one installed. Is this a bad configuration and if so, can I delete one of the two entries ?
    Thanks for your help.

Yup, that's what it will be. The Intel HT series show up as 2 CPU's - it's quite normal and nothing to worry about.

If you do that it will only run at 1/2 speed

Even if no one reads this, it's useful to add.

Disabling HT will not half the speed or capability. It will reduced performance by probably 25%. This is of course because the benefits are limitted in HT due to what it can do simultaneously, and whether the apps are multithreaded.

I just thought id add this rather pointless information.

Actually if you delete it, Windows will probably just redetect it when you reboot.

You can usually disable hyperthreading in the BIOS if you so desire. (Don't, unless you have a specific reason.)
