Ad-Aware SE
Was trying to direct a friend to Ad-Aware and came up with the subject program (Ad-Aware SE Build 1.01 ). Didn't know there had been a change. I try to stay up to date on programs like this and was suprised I hadn't heard about the new build.
Download.com shows this was added today. Is this brand new?
Tried it out and liked it, although I didn't like what it found, and it has more features.
Has anyone else tried SE, and if so, how did you like it?
Ad-Aware SE is available here.

AA Personal still seems to be free.
Looks like you have swich to SE to get future reference file updates?
Do we have to uninstall 6.181 before installing SE?
This seems to be what is new in Free (Personal) SE

Looking forward to the reaction of those more knowledgeable.
P.S. I would be slightly underwhelmed with the claimed improvements (even in SE Pro), but if they are free??

Its a two part scan now. Second scan finds MRU's. I was suprised that the first scan found 50 some objects as I never get more than 5 or 6.
Another interesting thing is the Licence.txt file does not speak of Lavasoft, but rather Nicolas Stark Computing AB. Not sure if that is new or not as during the SE install you are told that your previous version (Build 6.1 in my case), should be uninstalled and I allowed it. Wonder if the licence for 6.1 talks about Nicolas Stark Computing AB or Lavasoft.
Can anyone check?
Never mind. According to DuaneB's link they are one and the same.

Just to clarify Frebo's comment, when you install Ad-Aware SE, if you have a previous version, you will see a dialogue box that says that SE has found a previous version of Ad-Aware installed and warns it may cause a conflict. You then have the option of uninstalling the previous version or you can leave it there. If you take the option to uninstall, it leaves behind your previous edition's Logs and Quarantine folders, as well as the last reflist that you had downloaded.

The auto-uninstall is a nice upgrade feature, leaving behind only 2 folders w/2 files ea, so the manual deletion of prior install remnants is a very minor thing & is easily completed.
Lucky me. Scan came up clean.
