Firefox 0.9.2 released
Firefox minor release 0.9.2 is available from
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2248.html
Uninstall the old version first if you're already using Firefox.
BTW, Firefox (and other browsers) can be used to download Microsoft Updates. IE is not required.
On the other hand, some other downloads don't work with Firefox. If an FTP download fails without a meaningful error message, or the downloaded file is corrupt, try redownloading with IE.

The new release is Firefox 0.9.3.
Firefox 0.9.2 was a security update for 0.9.1 due to a flaw (shell exploit) in that version. You can also get the new one here:

Jerry, I have tried downloading Windows updates with 0.8, and it won't work. Is there a change with 0.9+ that makes it work?

DuaneB - You are correct. They forgot to change the version number on the splash screen for the install. For once, I double checked something, but the source was wrong.
Usil - I had 9.0 so not sure what was the status of earlier versions. It may be that Microsoft changed something. Their update site specifically mentions "other browsers".

This is what I get when I try to use Windows Update on Firefox:
Thank you for your interest in Windows Update
Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the most out of your computer.
You need to be running a version of Internet Explorer 5 or higher in order to use Windows Update.
Download the latest version of Internet Explorer
Once Internet Explorer is installed, you can go to the Windows Update site by typing http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com into the address bar of Internet Explorer.
If you prefer to use a different Web browser, updates to Windows may be downloaded from the Microsoft Download Center.
You don't get that same message?

Question: Is there a way to upgrade to the latest version without uninstalling first? Its just that I have loads of extensions and stuff, which I cannot be bothered to have to re-install, etc.
Or is there a way round this?
TIA
Hong

I removed 0.9.2 from ADD/REMOVE and nothing else (no deleting files or the folder in Programs). I then downloaded 0.9.3. That way, I got the new version and kept all of my extensions and the theme that I'm using.

Yep, it worked. Confused me a bit tho where the installer still says 0.9.2!! But none the less, still works.
Thanks
