    CPU FSB Speed

I am thinking about upgrading my cpu from an Athlon XP 1600 (266 FSB) to a Athlon XP 2600 (266 FSB). The mobo is an ASUS A7S333. I am finding it easier to locate a 2600 with a 333 FSB versus the 2600 with a 266 FSB. If I were to get the model with the 333 FSB and I just adjust to run at the 266 FSB speed or would this not work?

    Thanks

It would "work", but not the way I'm sure you'd want it to. The processor multipler is locked, so the cpu would run grossly underclocked.

If ya really want/need the 133 (266ddr)mhz 2600+, a couple places here seem to have them.
