    ASUS CUV4X Motherboard drivers

Does anyone know which type of driver would be required for this board.
    (ASUS CUV4X). (PIII 733 Mhz,)
When booting up it says it found new USB
and wants to install, I send it to Win98/win98 no go
I tried the Via tech route No go.
I checked on the Asus site No drivers for
this board for USB. Video,Bios, Audio.. Yes. That's it.

    What would be work around.

Also is it USB 1.0 or 2.0
    Checked System and not stated.
It comes up with yellow question marks under Other devices??

    Belarc says bus adapters
"Via Tech PCI to USB universal host Controller"

    under other devices it list
    Generic USB Hub.
    USB Root Hub..

    have removed once again. Th(???)

    Good reliable motherboard.
    Chipset is a 694X AGPset
    Same as this board.
Drivers, manual, settings are listed on the left column.
    http://www.asus.com.tw/mb/socket370/...c/overview.htm

They list a CUV4X but the wrong chipset.

    CUV4X

    Oldhermit
Thank You. I have downloaded unzipped and used the set up feature.

I still get one USB looking, but I will beat that one.

The following comes up at boot time.

    07/25/2000- VT694Z-CUV4X
    Award Medallion Bios V.6.0
    Asus CUV4X ACPI Bios Rev.1006
Intel Pentium III 733 Mhz processor
    393,216 k Ram (384)

"Belarc" lists bus clock at 133 mhz

The Computer was a second computer. for a friend. He passed away last week and the family distributed computer stuff, that they did not want.

Reason for no software or manuals.
I am cleaning up the drive of stuff that was personal and/or family oriented.

    Questions.-
    1. Is onboard USB ver 1.0 or 2.0?
    2. Is that the latest bios, or is there an update?

I'm sure it is USB1 since the board was introduced in June, 2000.

I usally manage to save the last set of drivers for my boards before ASUS removes it all from their website.
So I have these updated files and drivers readily available, and likely have the PDF version of the manual archived away on another system (somewhere). It might take awhile to find, and it is too large to post as an attachment, anyway. The original BIOS for the CUV4X will recognize 133 FSB processors up to 800Ghz

This board is one of my favorites and was a quick replacement for the P3V4X which could only handle a 100 FSB. The CUV4X was a huge improvement, and is very reliable. I still have use for it because it was the last one to have an ISA slot. I also have the dual processor version running W2k.

Included in NewCuv4x.zip are the latest BIOS, which should allow for processors up to 1Gig, and the graphics drivers. I also included documentation for these drivers. The VIA 4in1 matches the new BIOS but has to be sent separately. The sound drivers are too big to post, but can likely still be found on the ViaArena site.

    Asus CUV4X

    OldHermit

appreciate your posting the 2 zip files.
Have downloaded and will get to them pronto. Thank you.

Keep you postred on the outcome.

I also checked and I am sure now that it is ver 1.o for the USB.

I am going to install a PCI card to go to Ver 2.0 as I have printer, and external HD... otherwise would be very slow.
