Oops. I have the same problem. Was in a bit of a hurry yesterday and missed the "click on MSKB" step. Sorry.
There is no question that you should keep IE available, for Windows Updates, if nothing else. And that will probably always be the case so long as IE supports non-standard functionality.
Even if FF has an IE emulator plug-in, it is doubtful that it would be 100% compatible. Why not just use IE since it can't be removed without black magic?

I tried the I.E. emulator and it seems to work O.K. But I was just wondering if using this will open up your computer to spyware/malware again thus defeating the purpose of using Firefox?
