XMS Driver missing...... help!!
There's a problem and I have no idea how to solve it. I have tried several things, but nothing seems to be working. Here's the situation:
I have a laptop (Compaq Armada 1500c) with specs: Celeron 366MHz, 96RAM, 6GB HDD.
When Windows 98 was running, al of the sudden a message came up: HIMEM.SYS missing. If I had read the bulletin board than, I could have solved the problem, but instead I formatted the C drive and tried to reinstall Windows.
No such luck! It kept telling me XMS Drivers were not installed and HIMEM.SYS was missing. I managed to install Windows 2000 Prof. Ed. and it seemed to be o.k.
However, every time I tried to install a program, it said: Not enough memory, please free some space and try again.
I formatted C again, and it still says: XMS Drivers not installed. And when I try to install and OS it says: Can't Controll Line A-20 (I think that was it).
Does anyone have a clu on how I can install (and find!!) XMS Drivers??? Please help me?

I think the problem can be solved with the following link. Read the whole thing before doing anything. http://support.microsoft.com/support...n_SRCH&SPR=W95
