Word to PDF preserving hyperlinks?

I have a lengthy Word doc with around 50 hyperlinks (to web sites) in it, which I need converted to PDF. I also have a co-worker's machine with the full version of Acrobat 5 on it, and no idea how to use it.

I've done the print-to-PDF thing before, but that replaces the hyperlinks with normal text. I want users to be able to click the link in the PDF file and have it act as a link.

What's the best way to go about that?

Is this document you refer to saved as a ".doc" file, or as a web page (htm, html, etc.)?

It's a .doc file.

You can do it in Word (if Acrobat is installed in the same machine as Word ... Acrobat integrates itself to OFFice applications, IE etc.) or in Acrobat.

In Word:

In the top menu choose "Adobe PDF" > "Change Conversion Settings" > "Settings" and tick "Add links to Adobe PDF" and "Add bookmarks to Adobe PDF".

Then click the "Convert to Adobe PDF" button (if you don't see the button go to View > Toolbar > PDFMaker). That's it.

In Acrobat:

Edit > Preferences > "Convert to PDF" > "Microsoft Office" > "Edit Settings" and tick "Add bookmarks and links to PDF file".

Then File > "Creat PDF" > "From File". That's it.

I couldn't find the way to do it in Acrobat (version 5), but I got it done through Word. Thanks.
