    Question New CPU Running to slow

    I just put together a new Soyo SK-K7VTA Pro V1.0 Barebones kit with a AMD Athlon XP2400+, 2.0 Ghz. When I boot up it says that I only have a XP1800+, 1.5 GHz. HELP
    Heard at a local auto-repair shop:
    "I couldn't repair your brakes,
    so I made your horn louder."

    Sounds like you've got the Front Side Bus speed set wrong. Here is the manual if you need it:

    You'll need to set the FSB (Front Side Bus) to 133 and the Clock Multiplier to 15 to achive 1995 (1.995).

    I have the Athalon 2400+ and all I did was set the fsb to 133, it's now running at 2.01ghz.

    Took advice, found and changed the FSB settings on the MB from 200MHz to 266MHz. Thank you much
