    Spybot 1.3 hangs on "fix"

Loaded Spybot 1.3 over 1.2 and setup to mirror 1.2 settings.
Run check, finds usual usuage tracks and click select all and fix selected problems. When I click "fix" Spybot hangs and I have to CAD to end task.
Reopen, click "check for problems" and same are found. So it's hanging before clearing the found items. (never happened with 1.2)
Read over Spybot forum but nothing found concerning this prob.
    Any ideas, suggestions to try?
    Thanks.
Was so hoping the update would go smooth...

Did it hang on the creation of a restore point or on actually erasing the spyware? If it was on erasing, I would just do an uninstall and re-install, as thats what recommended in the first place. If it was on creating a restore point, it does take quite a while.

Couldn't sleep so played some more and think I found the culprit.
In "Settings" I first unchecked the "system restore point" (2) since I dont use XP...no help.
Looked and found what I thought may have an effect on fixing and found 2 (new?) checked default entries.
1-use shredder to remove usuage tracks.
2-use shredder when purging recovery files.
I unticked both and clicked check...found same 4 usuage entries but now when I cliked fix it actually fixed the entries.
Created some more usuage tracks and open a program, re-run Spybot , found entries and "fix" cleared everything.
Dont know if anyone will experience this but if so hope this helps.

Also a few "new.net" entries are checked by default to allow Spybot to not scan for them. Confused about that but unticked them anyway.
And I miss the countdown timer...enjoy.

edit:. Thanks for the info, usil. Didnt see your post till after I posted. From the horses mouth came the instructions to install over 1.2...so I figured the install should be ok. Not that I would mind uninstalling and reinstalling but just that it had to be something other than the install. The hang was at erasing since I dont use XP and when unticking the shredder defaults it worked.
If it acts up again I will try the un and re-install.
    Thanks again for the help.
