"arrow icon" disappeared
I have 'hide inactive icons' selected. But all my icons including inactivated ones shows up, and the "arrow icon" disappeared. ... Is there a way I can get it back please?

Right click a blank spot on your taskbar/click properties/click customize. Pick one of your icons you don't need showing and change to "always hide". This always brings the arrow back (until the next time it decides to go away". Just another glitch from the friendly creators of XP.

Download and run the script on this page. I've used it to fix the same problem you're having. It's a problem that has cropped up when I change a Window Blinds theme. I did try one theme that had a glitch preventing the "arrow icon" from displaying no matter what I did...other than getting rid of that particular theme.
