IP question
i have several games where in order to host a web server, you need to be connected DIRECTLY to your dsl modem and not through a network... but of course... i have one
i have a linksys BEFW11S4 802.11B wireless broadband router with an account with verizon DSL on a dynamic ip address and i had just updated the router firmware to version 1.50
i need to know if i can somehow have the router act like the computer is connected directly to the dsl modem so the real internet ip address... is the address of the computers onthe router...
soory but i dont know how to explain it any better

PSP, its like cheese you can listen to outside

Your router has something called the "DMZ", and using it can achieve the effect that you're asking for. When you place the computer in question in the router's DMZ, it bypasses the "firewall" created by NAT and forwards incoming traffic on all ports to that computer. Any game that isn't NAT-friendly should work properly behind the router when you use the DMZ.
If you choose to put your computer in the DMZ, PLEASE enable a software firewall, even if it's Windows XP's lowly Internet connection firewall. Putting your computer in the DMZ is a security risk because it is no longer protected by the NAT "firewall".
