Photo Editor
I have recently loaded Photoshop Elements 2.0 on my machine. Windows 98se.
All of my .jpeg icons have changed to the Photoshop Elements jpeg icons. Now when I open a photo in my email or from my desktop it opens up in Photoshop Elements. This program takes a while to open. I want them to open in Photo Editor as they did before.
I have already gone into MyComputer, View, Folder Options and picked the jpeg icon to be the default to open up in the program I want and it will not work.
I want to open up photos in Elements when I want to!!!.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Easiest way to use the program of your choice is to put a shortcut for each of them into the Windows/SendTo folder.
Then Right-click the image file and choose Send To from the shortcut menu.

You can change that two ways. First.... Highlight a photo by left clicking on it once then hold shift button down then right click on photo icon and go to open with. Then choose which photo program you want to open them. And make sure to check the box that says to always use that program to open that file type.
Second way to do this is to go to start/settings/folder options..
click on the file type tab up top and look for the file extension you want to change. You will need to know the exe file of the program you want to change it to. For example if your wanting to change a jpeg file. Scroll down the list to find that file then highlight it then click edit. Where it says actions ..in the window below that it should say open, highlight that then click edit again. Like I said you will need to know where and what the exe file is for the program you want the jpeg file to open with. When you find it just click ok on all windows to close them all. You can also change what the icon looks like in there.
