    I probed my ports at http://www.hackerwatch.org/probe/
    and http://www.dslreports.com/scan.

    Results are same as produced by Shields Up. All ports are secure including port 139.

    Sygate simply isn't to be trusted.

    Thanks everybody for your help. This has been a great learning experience for me.
