Can I recover a file after replacing it

Can I go back to the original file, let's say a Word file if I just replaced it with some changes? Is the original file hiding anywhere until I reboot?

depending on the version of Word you are using and how you set up the options, Word may have saved a backup of itself.

I know that in Office XP, Word will save a back up of a file, if you turned it on, as a .wbk file extension.

    Hope this helps.

    Restore it from your backup.

No, when you replace a file, unfortunately it overwrites the old one on the hard drive.
