Would this problem be due to the PSU?
As of late I've been having a problem with my system. When I push the power button, the system will turn on and run for about 2 seconds and then shut down and the power led will be blinking. Am I safe to assume that that is a Power Supply issue and if something else please do tell. Thanks everybody...

Almost forgot to add that after several attempts of trying to turn it on, it eventually will and run fine.

It might be the PSU, but it's never safe to assume anything with computers If you have a multimeter, or you can borrow one, here's how to test a PSU:
Testing PSU voltages
If it's just a cheapo PSU I'd change it in any case though - the PSU is a sorely underrated component, and poor quality PSU's are responsible for much misery. Antec or Enermax are the best IMHO:

Just wondering...
Could it be a matter of a loose connection? Right at the button or the MOBO connector?
(When I painted my case, the power button developed a tendency to be stuck ever so slightly, causing some erratic power behavior).
Might be worth checking before replacing the PS (which I consider a pain in the b... with all the wiring.)

I did experience that about christmas time, but mine never came back to life, so in the end it was the PSU.

I was in the case a couple days ago to clean and rearrange, but didn't notice that but I'll surely check. Thanks
