    Which browser are you using?

I just thought it would be nice to have a poll to see what browser VDR users use...

I mainly use MYIE2, since it is so custimable.., basically a browser built for a complete power user..., one that knows what he is doing at that..
it has all the features that the other browsers have, not only that but it allows you to tweak the features...

I have also been lately using Opera, since if MYIE2 is coffee, then Opera is Ice Cream..
Opera has the feeling of a mac.., it is something that you really wouldn't want to use all the time or especially when you were really trying to really stuff done but when you use everything flows..., its all smooth... but then again you try to change some stuff and it doesn't allow it...

    Thanx in advanced,
    Byan

I would have to differ on the customisability of Opera. You can change almost everything in Opera simply by adding/removing lines from the ini files. I have MYIE2 as well & it is nowhere near Opera in this regard. It is more secure, faster (on dial-up at least), over 100 skins available, too much to mention.
MYIE2 is good, but let's face it, it's just a dressed up Internet Exploder.

A lot of people here have been experimenting with Firefox, so you'll probably get a misleading amount of votes for Mozilla.

Just started using Avant a few weeks ago.. I like it a lot.

It's not noticably faster than IEX but I like the added features, in particular the auto refresh which I'd been wanting to do on some websites for a long time. Do like the "up one level on current site" button, really like the easily accessed tools (eg- delete TIFs, disabling various media types etc). The browser page tab bar took a little getting used to but now I prefer it to using the task bar for new browser pages.

Wish items in the favorites drop down menu were draggable and deletable.. would save some time in editing it.

    In order of usage:

    1) IE 6
    2) Mozilla Firebird
    3) MyIE2
    4) Opera
    5) Konqueror (Linux)

    In order of personal preference:

    1) Konqueror
    2) Opera
    3) Mozilla Firebird
    4) IE 6
    5) MyIE2

Prefer Linux to Windows to begin with, much faster throughout. Prefer non-M$ products beyond that, and find MyIE2 slower than the rest, but usually end up using IE 6 when I'm in a Windows environment, just for overall compatibility's sake.

But I HIGHLY recommend Konqueror if you can manage Linux!

    Various Windows and Linux platforms...

I've been very impressed with Mozilla Firefox, it's lightning fast, secure and very customisable. And it can only get better as it's still in Beta at the moment.

I am using Avant also, I like the tabbed browser approach as it is really easy to have a lot of pages open at the one time. I also like the 'Group' feature as I can add forums to one group and mail to another etc and then open all links in the same group.

I agree about not being able to move favourites and delete links from the drop down. I have to click on the Star and re-organise that way to save me having to open the IE edit bit.

The Ad Blocking feature has been improved which is really good plus the popup blocker will catch any Google misses.

I know it uses IE's engine and have often thought of a standalone browser but have never worked out which one I should try without causing problems to XP

Avant is also very pretty unlike IE

I will have to find the auto refresh etc as I don't think I have used this bit I have just added the little bin icon and it is neat

I searched around about that and your right you can change just about any feature.., I guess Opera is more customizable then I thought...
although.., It seems like alot of work to be fiddling around with those files all day..

also the lack of plugins is a little annoying, I was writing this with Opera then I switched to MYIE2 for IEspell...

    Whoohoo!

    thanks for the heads up.

Autorefresh.. right click the tab for whichever page you want to set it for. There are some other useful things there too.

Bin icon is great too, shame about the confirmation boxes.

I have tried IE, MyIE, Opera, Avant and Firefox.

Firefox is great for a beta - it's fast and sleek . In fact I am writing this in Firefox.

MyIE is also good particularly its pop-up blocker. Can someone help me with how to make MyIE replace IE as some links open automatically in IE?

I don't like IE it is easily hijacked.
