HELP! iSearch toolbar

[exaibachey]

I am running Win 98 on this machine and can't get rid of isearch! Here is the log file, can you please help. I have tried everything listed here, but I am not certain which files to delete, other than the obvious files containing isearsh. Thank you in advance for any help.

Download CWShredder
www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip
Unzip...Run it......press "Fix", follow its prompts & instructions.. press 'Next', and allow it to fix all it finds.
reboot.....

Then download Ad-Aware at http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware
After installing AAW, and before running the program, update by using the Globe icon.
Shut down and restart Ad-Aware.
Now press "Scan Now", "Select drives\folders to scan" and select the active partition (usually C: ), then 'next', and let Ad-Aware scan your drives.
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys. Click 'Next' again.
Rightclick in that pane and choose "select all" and click 'next'.
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.
Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.........

Then, create a new folder,..place HijackThis into it..rescan, and post your new log into your next reply.

Also....Internet Explorer SP1
is the most recent and more secure version of the browser.
Highly recommended that you upgrade.
And...take a look at
Stop IE hijacking before it happens
to help protect against this sort of stuff reoccurring.

I've tried running Spybot and Adaware..and removed the isearch toolbar. But i still cant fix the greyed out toolbars options. I've also tried to vist kelly's korner but i can access the website. Can anyone help me?

crunchie: my toolbar area is still greyed out. In my registry under internet explorer/toolbars, there is a "locked" value. bt each time i delete it and restart my browser, the value appears again. What to do nw?

Thanks for all the great help here with the insidious Isearch Toolbar problem! Did anyone suggest trying a system restore to an earlier date? That worked for me on my Windows ME. I don't think that function is available on earlier versions of Windows, though. I did follow someone's suggestion to update my Adaware program, and that seemed to find a bunch of cruddy programs that the older version missed. Thanks! I'm def not a tech geek, so a lot of what was discussed on these 2 Isearch threads I felt was over my head. Does anyone see a problem with this solution of using the System Restore program to get rid of Isearch?
