    unreal tournament 2004 error

    im a windows geek who just moved to redhat 8.0 so im not sure what some things mean in linux so i thought after i got an error while loading unreal tournament it might be a problem with linux in which case one of you may know what the message means

    the error (as shown in the terminal) is below



    [root@localhost root]# ut2004
    open /dev/[sound/]dsp: No such device
    Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".
    Either GL_EXT_bgra or glDrawRangeElements not supported- bailing out.

    Hopefully someone will be along soon that has had more Linux experience than I have, but until then here goes.
    It looks like UT2004 is unable to find a 3D environment.
    From the little I know about 3D under Linux is that you have to download the Linux drivers and compile them.
    Manufacturers like nvidia provide Linux drivers.

    The error
    open /dev/[sound/]dsp: No such device

    You more than likely need to install the Alsa sound drivers, have a look at the link below.
