Is there a menu path that will tell me the speed of my Mac and how much RAM is installed?

Have you tried the "Apple" symbol in the far left upper corner? I think it's in that drop down menu, highlight "About" or something similar. It's been a long time since I had my Mac, but I believe this is where you find the info you need. If I'm wrong someone will be along shortly to correct me.

To check the amount of physical memory, virtual memory and version of mac os, click on the apple icon on the top left of the screen and then click on About this computer.
To check the speed of your computer and hardware/network overview, etc click on the apple icon on the top left of the screen and then click on Apple System Profiler.
Hope that it helps.
Yuri.
