    Exclamation A friend in need

I had a old friend bring over a older computer and ask if I could get it working for him so that he could learn to use the computer and the internet. The problem is that it does not have a operating system and I can't remember what the limitations are for installing win 98. I will list the specs and see if someone can tell me if he has enough to run win 98.

    Specs are:
Pentium 166 MHz, 40960 K of memory, and a 730.8 MB Hard Drive.
Heard at a local auto-repair shop:
    "I couldn't repair your brakes,
so I made your horn louder."

    Hi Neighbor,

I put Win98 on an old Acer: 486DX cpu, 38mb ram, 512 mb HDD.
Even put an ethernet card in the thing and ran a cable connection throught it. Worked great.

    Question

It appears that I will be able to install Win98, now I would like to know if there Is a single install disk for Win98 or will I need a version of Dos also?

Win98 is on a single CD, and it will install it's own version of dos.
Unless you are referring to a bootdisk, so you can get the CD drive working in dos.
