Outlook 2000 syncing with IPAQ 3855

When entering an appointment in Calendar Outlook 2000 the only thing that shows up on my IPAQ is anything that is a recurring appointment. However if I enter the appointment into the IPAQ 1st and then sync it, it does show up in Outlook on my PC. Is there a setting Iam missing. I would always rather enter appointments into Outlook 2000 and then have it sync to my IPAQ.

Click options in active sync and under the rules tab, select " Leave the item unresolved".
