    No power

I'm trying to fix friend's laptop (Acer travelmate 512T). What's problem?? When turn on laptop there's no power. Not at all. Can I check out the PSU on laptop on the same way as desktop PC?
    Thanks in advance

IS the PSU in the cord or built into the lappy?

I've got a Sony lappy that is missing the power cord AND has a dead battery...I purchased a 75 freaking dollar power cord only to find out it won't work unless I purchase a new battery for $150...At least got my money back on the power cord..

What's the history of the lappy. Did it work last week? Anything new installed on it?
