98 Lite for tweaking Windows
Hi there,
I have recently learnt about 98Lite for tweaking/installing/uninstalling components of W98 that one does not want.
Has nayone nay experience of using this program and was that experience good or bad?
Also, is it possible to install and run the program over an existing installation or does it need to be installed following a format of the HD?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

There are a variety of flavours for 98 up to XP and you can do either an install using the Lite program to add add/remove programs options from the start or install it on a pre-existing installation.
It initially started out life as a useful application to use some key W95 components in a W98 setup thus enabling the removal of Internet explorer and other unwanted "features" from the final install and I believe it was instrumental in disproving the claim that MS had made saying Internet explorer could not be removed as it was integrated into the operating system too deeply.
The latest XPLite version adds much functionality to the system add/remove feature enabling the safer removal of unwanted system applications.

Thanks for your reply. Having posted my question, I them found some topics using the VDr search.
I have a copy of the program but am reluctant to run it without knowing more and/or how I can screw up my system.

you shouldnt worry too much you can always do an overinstall and reload the missing applications.
I take it you are using the 98Lite version?
