    winspool.drv error

When trying to download Windows updates, the pc gets to 66% and I get an invalid page fault error for explorer.exe in winspool.drv. I've searched and searched but found nothing to fix this problem.

    Any thoughts?

    TIA

WAG: Too many fonts in the fonts folder?

Is your PC trying to print during the update?

    What other programs are running?

    Hi!

There is a similar issue known in Windows98 that is fixed by upgrading spoolss.dll. Apparently the cause is related to a timing issue with Anti Virus software. (McAfee to be precise).
Given the latter, try disabling your antivirus software (whichever it may be) and then go to windows update.

    Best wishes,

    Andrew
