Linksys wap11 and befw11s4 won't play nicely
OK, I just bought these two devices (the linksys router with wireless access point is the befw11s4, and the remote access point is the wap11). I'm trying to get them to talk to each other, but they refuse. I've set them both with the same SSID, I changed to different (but matching) channels a couple of times, but they just seem to ignore each other. Does anyone have experience with these devices?

Well, never mind. I just got off of tech support with Linksys, and they've confirmed that the WAP11 will not talk to the BEFW11S4. So, I guess it's back to the drawing board on a wireless router with built in switch that will talk to an access point with a built in LAN port (for my X-box).

Hi RingoSaturn,
They said the Wap11 will not communicate with the BEFW11S4? That seems very strange to me...did they give a reason why that configuration wouldn't work?

A WAP plugs directly into a network (cat5) to make it wireless.
your router is already wireless, so it was an un-needed device.
If you had a plain old router, you would plug a WAP into it to make it wireless.
If you want to extend your 11S4, you need a repeater, not a WAP.
