Using Windows XP
In Windows XP, you can uninstall GRUB as follows:
Boot from the Windows XP CD and press the "R" key during the setup in order to start the Recovery Console. Select your Windows XP installation from the list and enter the administrator password. At the input prompt, enter the command "FIXMBR" and confirm the query with "y". The MBR will be rewritten and GRUB will be uninstalled. Press "exit" to reboot the computer.

Howdy:
Quickest and easiest way.. get yourself a Win98SE bootfloppy (www.bootdisk.com if you don't have one).. Boot using the floppy and when you get to a: prompt, type in fdisk /mbr (note the space between fdisk and /mbr)
Once the file has copied, remove the floppy and reboot.. Away you go..
I have used this method more times than I can count as I am always trying new Linux distros just to see how they work..

Ya.. If you had read John7714's answer, his has to do with booting using the WinXP cd..
