compaq v50 monitor problems
i picked up a compaq v50 monitor from a curb the other day. the monitor works, but it has a couple problems that i was hoping could be fixed.
when the power is cycled the monitor loses its display settings (display location, width, height, etc).
the display can't be stretched to its full width with the controls, there's about an inch of black space on either side of the display.
any ideas?

Monitor is almost 8 years old. Probably made its way to the curb for a reason.

i realize that, however it would be a good monitor for my server if i could get it to work properly (my workstation already has a 19").
thank you for noting the display modes. changing the resolution and refresh rate does not affect the picture width.
