    Crazy Network and Playstation question

I recently hooked up my Linksys wireless network and I also bought a Playstation 2 for the kids which came with an network adapter to play online. The ports are for a phone line and a cable modem line. There are also 2 USB ports on the front of the playstation. Is there a way to hook up the PS2 to play online but wireless? Is there a linksys adapter that will work on the PS2??

If wireless is not possible can I just run a hard wire from the back of my router to the network adapter on the playstaion? I know this is more of a PS2 question but PS2 people have no idea!

    Greetings Raydee,

I am not a gamer and I cannot tell what all you need for the setup. Linksys does provide a game console adapter for the Playstation2. It would seem the WGA11B Wireless B Game adapter is all you need and it seems very easy to configure.

Yes, it should work for your Linksys Wireless G router. You should read the Wireless-B Game Adapter User Guide and Quick Install, Raydee.

The Wireless-B Game Adapter gives any wired game console wireless connection capabilities. The Game Adapter can be used in two ways:
    • If you have an exisiting home wireless network with a Cable/DSL Internet connection, the Game Adapter lets your Playstation2, Xbox, or GameCube attach to the network so you can play online games without running wires to the game room.
    • Or use a pair of Game Adapters to form a "cable-less cable" between two game consoles for head to head gaming -- in the same room, or all the way across the house.
For more details, see the User Guide and Quick Install.

Thanks Eric. I did some digging around and found a Wireless G game adapter also that will match my other network gear. Now I have to do a search and see who sells them.
