Mouse Install

I may not be on the right forum, but we need help with an error code we get when trying to install a new mouse. The error message reads:

Error1101 Reading from File C:Windows\Temp_is7222\1033.MST. Verify that file exists and you can access it.

Each time we get this message, we get a different set of numbers after temp. We have cleaned the temp files, cleared the history and still get this message. We are trying to install the Microsoft Trackball Explorer Mouse. We run Win 98.

Can someone explain what this error is and how we fix it? We cannot install the mouse due to the error. Thanks.

Not sure if this effects newer versions of M$ mouse software, but this is the only result I keep finding in regards to that error......

Thank you Ghouldini. That looks like the exact message we got. We will download the update and see if that helps. I will post back later to let you know the outcome. Again, thanks for your help and have a Happy Holiday.

Just posting back to let you know we got the mouse installed and working. We had to install/uninstall the software several times before it worked properly, but it is working fine now. Thanks for your help.
