Animated gif
I've got an animated gif from which I'd like to extract one of the layers. I've got Photoshop 6 and ImageReady to work with.
Any ideas how I can extract just the one layer?
TIA

Try this, (it's free):- Go to http://www.gifworks.com

Dear DVOM,
I use Ulead GIF Animator, which is freeware (at least, was a freeware, when I downloaded it - about a year back) and can be downloaded from
http://www.ulead.com
In the installed program,
Open the file > Layers > Export Images
You can experiment with the various options available.
Our friend Vernon Frazee's idea is undoubtablly excellant, but (please correct me, if I'm wrong) visiting the suggested site, uploading the picture and getting the job done, I feel, is more expensive and time consuming if the service is repeatedly used, whereas once downloaded, you dont've to use Internet connection again and again, and after installation Ulead GIF Animator is right there in your system, ready to be used in a matter of seconds. Besides, you can use it to create animated GIFs.

Thanks ppl, I was able to finally do it with ImageReady. I had to shut everything else down as 256MB of RAM was a little over taxed with all my other work programs running.
